Mission

The PALM CENTER, a research initiative, is committed to sponsoring state-of-the-art scholarship to enhance the quality of public dialogue about critical and controversial issues of the day. For the past 18 years, The PALM CENTER's research on sexual minorities in the military has been published in leading social scientific journals. The PALM CENTER seeks to be a resource for university-affiliated as well as independent scholars, students, journalists, opinion leaders, and members of the public.

During 2017, PALM CENTER delivered lectures at the U.S. Air Force Academy, American Military Partner Association Gala, and SciencesPo. PALM CENTER published the following research studies and policy memos: Re-Thinking Genital Surgeries on Intersex Infants, Discharging Transgender Troops Would Cost $960 Million, Military Professors Explain Trump's Transgender Ban, DoD Is Ready to Accept Transgender Applicants, and Former Military Surgeons Generals Rebut Assertion that Training Medical Examiners to Evaluate Transgender Applicants is Complex.
