Mission

To provide educational opportunities, life skills development and cultural enrichment for women and girls who have limited access to resources to enable them to improve the quality of their lives.

Girls' Programs

$344k annual program spend • MERCY EDUCATION PROJECT provided over 7800 hours remedial, curriculum-based after-school tutoring in Reading and math, ACT test Preparation, and the Emerging Leader Summer Enrichment Program to 130 at-risk girls in grades one through twelve from low-income households. 71% of Girls who received tutoring in Math improved by one (1) or more grade level over the course of the program year. 100% of 8th grade girls in the program advanced to high school. 74% of Girls who received Reading/Literacy tutoring improved by one (1) or more grade levels. 100% of 12th graders applied to and were accepted to a College or University of their choice. In addition, 1,705 meals were served to the girls, and transportation was provided.

Women's Programs

$427k annual program spend • MERCY EDUCATION PROJECT provided 23,424 hours of adult literacy, adult basic education, educational assessments, and workforce skills development to 130 women; 91% of the ABE/GED students who completed the program year in May showed at least a one grade level improvement in 2017. 14 women completed their GED this program year. In addition, 5,508 meals were served to the students, and transportation was provided.
