Mission and Work

Mission

The climate trust mobilizes conservation finance to maximize environmental returns.

Carbon Asset Management

$3.4m annual program spend • Receives funds from the management of regulatory carbon offset programs, voluntary carbon offset acquisition programs and the sale of voluntary and compliance offsets to third-party buyers. Implements, finances, monitors and administers contracts with third parties that produce measurable and verifiable greenhouse gas reductions or "carbon offsets". The organization invests and engages in the early stages of project development, when owners are seeking to reduce risk and need operational expertise to ensure their carbon projects are successful. The organization's carbon offset project development expertise and support for climate mitigation policies has encouraged mission-aligned partners to enter the carbon markets.

Climate Services

Develops resources and materials to support the implementation of projects that reduce, sequester or avoid greenhouse gas emissions. As a result, we work with landowners and project developers to evaluate, finance and manage the creation and commercialization of greenhouse gas emissions reductions that can be traded and retired to meet regulatory and voluntary greenhouse gas emission reduction commitments.
