Rookie league has two distinct outcomes: 1) to enhance the life-skills and physical health of marginalized children; and, 2) to enhance positive self-identity and the employment skills of marginalized youth. In 2017, rookie league is celebrating its 29th season, and will continue to shrink the opportunity gap for more than 8,000 children and youth in communities from coast to coast.
Field of Dreams

More than 25% of canadian parents say that inconvenient locations for sport facilities prevent their children from getting involved in sport and only 53% say their children (aged 5 to 17) participate in sport and recreation programs at school. To overcome these challenges, the field of dreams grants program provides funding to design, refurbish, and build safe spaces for children and youth to play baseball, develop life skills and learn from positive role models. Jays care has invested over $11 million in safe spaces for children and youth all across canada.
