What we do

Program 1

Creating safe, stable shelters for families experiencing homelessness. Families stay in one of 23 bedrooms and are provided with shelter, meals and clothing.

Program 2

Children’s Program

Through the Children’s Evening Program we serve at least 100 children each year; more than 85% of these children show marked improvements in their social and emotional behavior.

Program 3

Bridge Program

Ongoing support after families have moved on from the shelter, including case management, workforce development, financial education and parent empowerment groups. This program serves 300 families annually and 90% of those families remain stably housed.

We had a great workout yesterday at @barrysbootcamp in the Marina! All proceeds from the class went to Raphael House of San Francisco, benefiting our programs that help Bay Area families break the cycle of homelessness.

Thank you to @vdade, @strackeattack, all of the class participants, and the Barry’s Bootcamp team for generously supporting Raphael House for the past three years.

Hannah has been volunteering at Raphael House for three years. Just recently, she invited a group of her friends to volunteer as a part of her birthday celebration! 🎂

Hannah and her friends spent the evening preparing dinner for the families staying in our Residential Shelter and sorting groceries to give to families in our Bridge Program (those families that have achieved housing but still rely on Raphael House’s supportive services).

She says, “From teaching job skills and financial awareness to creating artistic and mindfulness practices, Raphael House is doing great work to invest in its residents as people and I find that truly inspiring.”

Thank you for the support, Hannah. And happy birthday! 🎉 #VolunteerAppreciationWeek

It's #VolunteerAppreciationWeek! Every aspect of life at Raphael House depends on the support of our volunteers.

Lisa has been volunteering at Raphael House since the mid-90s, helping with numerous activities from cooking warm meals in our kitchen to cleaning our Residential Shelter for families experiencing homelessness.

Just recently, Lisa and her team at @salesforce gave a grant and volunteered to make over our Teen Room, which provides teenagers staying at Raphael House with a space of their own to study or simply relax.

It's thanks to volunteers like Lisa that Raphael House can continue to offer a safe, dignified shelter to Bay Area families experiencing homelessness. Thank you, Lisa!

Raphael House kids were all smiles yesterday at @internationalsmoke! 😁

They were invited to paint a mural at International Smoke with Ayesha Curry, Chef Michael Mina and Artist Edward Granger. 🎨

"Having these kids participate in our new mural at the restaurant creates an opportunity for them to be a part of something longstanding in the community, in addition to creating exposure to new creative outlets," says Chef Mina.

We appreciate their support of our mission to break the cycle of family homelessness in the Bay Area!

"I was absolutely taken back by the amount of love, talent, encouragement, and overall happiness I witnessed at our Annual Children's Art Show. It was beautiful to see not only parents be proud of their children's work, but also, children be proud of their parents work." ~ Bianca Beverina, Raphael House Family Wellness Care Coordinator

Parents and children in our Residential Shelter celebrated our annual Children's Art Show last week. 🎨

A major component of our Family Wellness Services, the art show is one of our favorite events of the year, as it gives our hallways a refresh and allows us to showcase the hard work parents and children put into creating their masterpieces. 🖼

We'll be sharing more of our favorite Art Show moments throughout the week!
