About us

Alma grew out of a midwife's everyday life: countless questions between appointments, too little time, and the wish that every family gets through pregnancy and the first year well.

Our story

As a midwife, Charlotte sees every day how many questions expectant parents have – and how hard it is to find reliable answers, or even a midwife at all.

Together with her brother Felix and Umut, a computer scientist and her partner, she thought about what an app would need to give families orientation and take load off midwives. That became Alma.

“I wanted to build something I could recommend to my own families with a clear conscience.”

What we stand for

These principles guide every decision we make for Alma.

Professionally grounded

Content is created with midwives and based on medical sources – orientation instead of guesswork.

Midwives at the centre

Alma doesn't replace a midwife. We build tools that give them time for what matters.

Taking privacy seriously

Health data is sensitive. We store it in the EU and ask before we use anything.

Accessible to everyone

Good care shouldn't depend on where you live or how much time you have.
