Protecting Choice

The Challenge

There is an attack on women’s rights happening in Alabama, Georgia and across the country. We must fight it everywhere, and defend women's right to choose.

So far in 2019, 28 state legislatures have proposed abortion bans — an average of two bans per week. Anti-choice legislators on the offensive with the express intent of challenging Roe v. Wade.

The Solution

“You cannot have maternal health without reproductive health,” Hillary Clinton once said. “And reproductive health includes contraception and family planning and access to legal, safe abortion.”

This fund features nonprofits that provide services and advocate for women's reproductive rights.

Strategies

1. Support on-the-ground work

While women's reproductive rights are currently a hot topic on the national stage, we're supporting the on-the-ground organizations that have been fighting for change for decades. From Kentucky to Ohio to Alabama, these nonprofits champion for women's needs and provide critical support and services for women.

2. National Advocacy

Nonprofits in this fund campaign year round to protect women's rights. Organizations like Planned Parenthood work to advance access to sexual health care and defend reproductive rights.

3. Service Providers

Organizations like Kentucky Health Justice Network provides a hotline for people with factual information on abortion, and the Yellowhammer Fund in Alabama helping people remove costly barriers (like travel and lodging) to getting an abortion.

Anti-choice politicians across the U.S. are working overtime to pass extreme bans on abortion that are designed to roll back Roe v. Wade. But for now, Roe stands—and you can count on us to fight like hell to keep it that way.
