The problem

Too many young women receive early signals they shouldn't pursue science and engineering. Too often women face harassment at work with little support. The gender wage gap remains, with women earning 78 cents to a man's dollar.

At AnitaB.org, we envision a future where the teams that imagine and build technology mirror the people and societies for whom they build it. Our social enterprise supports women in technical fields, as well as the organizations that employ them and the academic institutions training the next generation. Our full roster of programs help women grow, learn, and develop their highest potential.

San Francisco

Too many women and girls still have their educational and employment opportunities disrupted by discrimination, harassment and assault, unfair school discipline, or incarceration. Far too many women and girls—particularly women and girls of color and low-income women and girls—face a combination of structural and cultural barriers to equality, severely impacting their lives as well as their felt sense of justice and possibility. The vast underrepresentation of women across all sectors in political and corporate leadership and in public life prevents women’s perspectives from being heard and informing policy. This also perpetuates false stereotypes about women’s performance as leaders and desire to take on leadership roles. This is particularly harmful to girls as they imagine lives they want to create for themselves as adults and begin planning their educations and careers.

Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code

Nationwide

Computing is where the jobs are — and where they will be in the future, but fewer than 1 in 5 computer science graduates are women. Girls Who Code was founded with a single mission: to close the gender gap in technology. Since we started in 2012, we've grown into a movement reaching almost 90,000 girls of all backgrounds in all 50 states. We’re building the largest pipeline of future female engineers in the United States.

PL+US

PL+US

Nationwide

The U.S. stands alone as the only industrialized country with no national paid family leave policy. Our mission at Paid Leave for the United States (PL+US) is to win high-quality paid family leave for everyone. Our three-pronged strategy is to transform workplaces, public policy, and culture so that everyone can give and receive family care when it matters most.
